Hattiesburg Zoo Unzipped Gives Guests “Behind the Zenes” Exclusive Access
Animal lovers and curious explorers alike are invited to experience the inner workings of the Hattiesburg Zoo during Hattiesburg Zoo Unzipped – Behind the Zenes on Saturday, June 20.
This special one-day event offers guests the rare opportunity to go beyond the public pathways and discover what happens behind the scenes in caring for the Zoo’s animals. Through four exclusive guided tours, guests will gain insight into the world of animal husbandry, veterinary care, nutrition preparation, enrichment, and daily operations that help keep the Zoo thriving.
At the ticket booth, interested guests can purchase a special $10 Hattiesburg Zoo Unzipped wristband, which will grant access to all four behind-the-scenes tours.
Featured tours include:
- African Barn Tour
- Giraffe Barn Tour
- Vet/Nutrition Tour
- Asbury Lab Tour
A limited number of only 300 wristbands will be sold for the event.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Guests participating in the Giraffe Barn Tour should meet next to Ladha’s Cantina in Africa. All other tour groups will meet at the Galapagos Tortoise habitat located in front of the Asbury Discovery Center.
